Inductosense technology can be used with STOPAQ coatings for internal corrosion monitoring

STOPAQ is a developer and manufacturer of patented self-healing corrosion preventative wrap materials, the company forms part of the Seal for Life Industries. STOPAQ systems protect against the ingress of water, oxygen and bacteria, and are the most environmentally friendly corrosion prevention systems in the world.  The wrap materials adhere extremely well to steel and factory or field applied pipeline coatings. They are non-toxic, cold-applied, prefabricated wrap coatings based on the pure homopolymer, Polyisobutene, a low viscosity, non-crystalline, non-crosslinked (fully amorphous) compound.

Inductosense’s patented, ultrasonic WAND system enables highly cost-effective internal corrosion monitoring of pipework and vessels. Unlike alternative wall thickness monitoring solutions, the WAND sensors are battery-free, wireless and can be embedded underneath insulation or coatings such as STOPAQ.  The combined solution builds on the excellent performance of the market-leading viscoelastic coating. By embedding the low-profile WAND sensor beneath the coating wrap, full external coverage of pipes and vessels with the corrosion prevention coating is maintained, without compromising access to internal wall thickness measurements.
